Why we called it
The pool call had two halves. The first was the scheduled Special Buy — the Crivit Quick-Up with filter pump at £45 and the Hexagonal Jumbo at £14.99, both landing on the Thursday. The second was better: a member spotted the 10ft Livarno metal frame pool back on shelves at £69.99, months after it had sold through, as stores quietly cleared leftover stock.
That metal frame pool was the pick. Two eBay sales were verified the same evening it was flagged — £149.99 and £133.99 — against a £69.99 buy-in with free in-store returns. The follow-up review nine days later was blunter: the range we posted was the top of a falling market, with the median sliding from £145 to £129.99 across roughly seventeen sales in forty-eight hours.
The edge
What members knew before everyone else worked it out.
- 10ft Metal Frame £69.99 → £130–150, with two same-day verified sales at the point of the call.
- Quick-Up with pump £45 → £75–80; the pump is what separates it from a basic paddling pool in buyers' eyes.
- Hexagonal Jumbo £14.99 → £30 turned out to be the sleeper, holding price across roughly fifty sales in the month.
- Free in-store returns at any Lidl, which capped the downside on a weather-dependent buy.
- Article codes and a live stock-checker command posted up front, so nobody travelled blind.

The Special Buy is called
Quick-Up and Hexagonal posted with article codes ahead of the Thursday drop, plus a correction on the date within the hour.

The leftover restock
A member finds the 10ft metal frame back on shelves. Two eBay sales verified the same evening at £149.99 and £133.99.

The honest review
Nine days of data show the metal frame median falling from £145 to £129.99. Members are told to sell inside four weeks or return at month end.
The takeaway
A falling market is still a market. The pools printed, but the follow-up mattered more than the call: pool season closes in late August, and the members who were told to set a four-week clock kept their margin.
