Why we called it

The Ninja Creami sits at £200+ and sells out every summer. On 16 July, Lidl and Aldi both dropped their own version on the same day — the Silvercrest Premium Freezy and the Ambiano Ice Cream Machine, both at £69.99, both direct Creami-style machines at a third of the price. That gap is a flip.

The alert went out with the article numbers for both retailers, so members could run our in-store stock checkers by postcode before leaving the house. Buyers who'd missed Ninja stock paid £105–115+ for the Lidl machine and £115+ for the Aldi one — a clean £35–45 per unit with no order limit, and free in-store returns underwriting the whole play.

The edge

What members knew before everyone else worked it out.

  • Two retailers, same day, same price — the alert covered both with article numbers attached.
  • Demand borrowed from the Ninja Creami: £200+ and perpetually out of stock in summer.
  • £69.99 in, £105–115+ out — roughly 50% ROI per unit, buyable in multiples.
  • Free in-store returns at both chains — unsold stock goes back to the shelf, not the loss column.
  • Stock checkable store-by-store via the /lidlstock and /aldistock commands before travelling.

How it played out

#misc-alerts — call log
  1. 16 Jul

    The double-drop is called

Both machines flagged the morning they land in the middle aisle, with article numbers and stock-checker commands in the post.

  2. Same week

    Store-by-store sweep

Middle-aisle stock varies wildly by store — members run the stock commands by postcode and route around empty shelves.

  3. Ongoing

    Quiet restocks

Small top-ups keep landing after the initial drop. The summer-seasonal radar stays on: pools, pizza ovens, garden gear.

The takeaway

Not a headline flip — just a reliable one. Two machines, £70 in, £105–115 out, free returns if it doesn't move. The middle aisle keeps paying members who know what's landing in it before the crowd does.
