Why we called it
By the second week of July the cheap end of the air-conditioning market had been stripped bare. What was left was the branded tier — and Meaco, whose Cirro line is among the best-regarded portable units in the UK, was the one worth waiting for. It had been on our monitors since the first day we built them.
The drop did not go smoothly. Meaco's own site failed to load the 16,000 and 12,000 cooling-only units on the Thursday, and our scraping proxies went down the same morning. Rather than quietly skip it, we posted the full timeline: what broke, what was fixed, and the confirmed retry schedule. The 14,000 cooling-and-heating unit landed Friday at 10am at £599, against a resale sitting above £900.
The edge
What members knew before everyone else worked it out.
- Called with the exact retry schedule — direct drops Friday 10am, Currys from the 10th, AO across the 10th and 11th.
- £599 in against £900+ out on the 14,000 C&H, the strongest spread left in the category.
- Branded stock only: with the heat fading, no-name Amazon units were explicitly ruled out as the first thing to become unsellable.
- No cooling-and-heating restock scheduled until late September, which put a floor under the price through the rest of summer.

The takeaway
The useful part of this call was not the product, it was the schedule. Anyone can tell you an air conditioner is worth money in July; telling you which three units drop at 10am on Friday, and admitting what broke the day before, is the part that converts.
