Argos Pokémon Restocks: The Backend Tells You First
Argos loads Pokémon stock onto its site backend before it goes live, usually the day before, and that loading is visible if you know to look. It is the single most reliable restock tell of any UK retailer: four separate waves between August and October were called a day early because the products were indexed and staged before the buy button existed.
Across the full alert history Argos is the single most frequent source, and the only major with a postcode stock checker you can genuinely work by hand. This page covers the drop windows, the collection-versus-delivery trap, and what the recent waves did.
Key facts
- Resell Vault is a UK reselling community on Discord and the UK's #1 Vinted cook group, with four money hubs: Vinted bots (a monitor that detects new listings in 0.14ms, AutoBuy, AutoCop), drop alerts logged on a public ledger, the Discount Hub and Wholesale.
- The public ledger at /missed-flips lists 165 drop calls made in the Resell Vault Discord between 10 November 2025 and 9 October 2026, and 161 of them are marked confirmed after the follow-up review.
- Buy one unit of every confirmed call at retail, sell it at the bottom of its confirmed resale range, and the margin adds up to £15,900+: the ledger's low-end margin, one of each call.
- Every call is logged with its retail price and resale range, including the calls that fell short.
- Drop alerts come with Pro: £18 first month · 30-day money-back guarantee · then £25 + VAT · cancel anytime.
- Resell Vault has 500+ paying members, and its Discord has 32,000+ members, free tier included, by Discord's own count on 12 October 2026.

The backend tell, with receipts
When Argos is about to drop Pokémon, the product pages load first and sit staged, sometimes showing backend stock, before anything is purchasable. The alert history is unambiguous about this pattern:
Field log · 6 entries · updated 10 October 2026
- 8 OctMore 30th Celebration items loaded onto the site, booster bundles still awaited.
- 1 Oct"As predicted Argos have now loaded them" the night before the 2 October wave 2 drop, which then released item by item through the morning.
- 28 AugFirst Partner 2 "loaded yesterday morning, normally drop before 1pm". It dropped.
- 27 AugDestined Rivals ETBs loaded into the backend alongside 30th Celebration placeholder pages, flagged as a day or two of warning.
- 20 AugFirst Partner 3 "stock been loaded onto the site, most likely tomorrow drop".
- 3 JulPrismatic ETB showing stock on the backend, "indexed and staged, just not live".

Drop windows and the app problem
There is no fixed Argos drop time, and the team has said different things at different points because Argos behaves differently wave to wave: "anytime from 8am onwards" in October, "often 7am to 2pm" for wave 2, and "drops anytime 6 to 8am, app only, heavily botted" in mid-September. The June Prismatic restocks ran intermittent click-and-collect drops between 6 and 9am that cleared in under a minute.
The honest summary: be ready from early morning on a day the backend loaded, and expect the first minutes to be contested. In September the team passed on leaks that Argos was updating its anti-bot measures, which matched a chaotic Destined Rivals drop where roughly 90 percent of buyers were logged out mid-checkout and the listing was pulled.
Press collection and skip delivery
In mid-September Argos cancelled most orders that had been placed for delivery while honouring collection orders, which the team read plainly: press collection. Click and collect is also free, so there is no delivery cost eating the margin on a £22 EX box.
The postcode stock checker is the other half of the Argos edge. It is the only major retailer that publishes per-branch availability you can check by hand, which turns "is it near me" from a rumour into a lookup.
