When Does Smyths Restock Pokémon Cards?
Smyths restocks Pokémon on two weekday deliveries per store in most of the UK, with a Saturday delivery added since September for the seasonal run-up, and big releases land on scheduled dates with the strongest allocations of any toy chain. There is no public calendar: the dates below come from till blocks, delivery sightings and staff confirmations gathered across hundreds of member reports.
Smyths is the most-mentioned retailer in our Pokémon channels, 82 mentions since June, ahead of every supermarket. This page explains the three different kinds of Smyths drop, the regional pattern their quiet restocks follow, and what the recent waves actually looked like.
Key facts
- Resell Vault is a UK reselling community on Discord and the UK's #1 Vinted cook group, with four money hubs: Vinted bots (a monitor that detects new listings in 0.14ms, AutoBuy, AutoCop), drop alerts logged on a public ledger, the Discount Hub and Wholesale.
- The public ledger at /missed-flips lists 165 drop calls made in the Resell Vault Discord between 10 November 2025 and 9 October 2026, and 161 of them are marked confirmed after the follow-up review.
- Buy one unit of every confirmed call at retail, sell it at the bottom of its confirmed resale range, and the margin adds up to £15,900+: the ledger's low-end margin, one of each call.
- Every call is logged with its retail price and resale range, including the calls that fell short.
- Drop alerts come with Pro: £18 first month · 30-day money-back guarantee · then £25 + VAT · cancel anytime.
- Resell Vault has 500+ paying members, and its Discord has 32,000+ members, free tier included, by Discord's own count on 12 October 2026.

The three kinds of Smyths Pokémon drop
Treating every Smyths drop the same is how people waste mornings. There are three distinct mechanics, and which one applies decides whether queueing even makes sense.
- Releases: set-date launches, usually a Friday, with the strongest allocations. The 30th Celebration waves ran this way, and Smyths confirmed early store opening on release days.
- Restocks: the routine two-deliveries-a-week replenishment. Unannounced, branch-dependent, and where most of the quiet margin lives.
- Ghost drops: stock that arrives with no announcement at all. A product Smyths has never sold before can be till-blocked, meaning it sits in the store but the tills physically refuse to sell it until a set date. A product they have sold before cannot be blocked, so those restocks are genuinely unpredictable.
Till blocks turn rumours into dates
The till-block mechanic is the most useful thing to understand about Smyths. In August, three separate stores confirmed they had received Prismatic Super Premium Collections and been told to hold them. That coordination meant a coordinated release, and by the Thursday it was confirmed: till blocks on every SPC until 9am Saturday, roughly twenty units per store, nationwide. The Saturday printed around £2,300 of in-store profit across the group.
So when a Smyths staffer says "we have it but cannot sell it yet", that is not a brush-off. It is a date, and ringing a second store to cross-check it is how a rumour becomes a plan.
The regional ghost-drop pattern
Our Pokémon lead published this explicitly as a prediction rather than a promise, and it has matched repeated observations since: quiet restocks tend to start in Scotland and the North East on a Friday, reach Yorkshire, Lancashire and Liverpool on the Saturday, and work down to the Midlands and the South by Sunday or Monday.
Three separate waves have behaved exactly that way: a September Destined Rivals restock hit seven stores "mainly Scotland and North East" first, White Flare sticker collections pinged Preston before anywhere else and worked south over the weekend, and an August wave had "Scotland dropped early" before anyone else saw stock.
Working your local branch
- The website shows "temporarily out of stock" on items that are physically on shelves. Treat the site as a hint and the shelf as the record.
- Stores sometimes book deliveries in under the wrong numbers and stock never pings online at all, which is why shelf reports beat monitors for Smyths specifically.
- Smyths staff are known for not confirming exact stock numbers. Three stores saying "Saturday" is a date; one store saying "about twenty" is a guess.
- On release days, check whether your branch is opening early. Smyths confirmed early opening for the 30th wave 2 release.
