Why we called it
The Destined Rivals restock has been the most-moved date of the month. Sports Direct was confirmed for Friday 21 August, then pushed to 4 September. The Entertainer was expected one week, then the next, then the one after. Chasing a moving date is how people waste mornings, so the instruction all month was the same: stop waiting for the announcement and map your local stores now.
The stores did what stores do and started early. Waterstones branches in Hampshire began receiving on 26 August, a full week ahead of anything scheduled, with the rest expected within days. Rymans came in as a strong rumour the same morning. Card Factory turned up with booster boxes at £160 against roughly £300 out, though most stores get one or two and open them for five-pack sales. And Argos loaded ETBs into their backend the following morning alongside a First Partner Series 2 page update, which is usually a day or two of warning.
The set itself is worth the attention. Destined Rivals had a relatively limited print run against other modern releases, which is what has kept the Elite Trainer Box at £110 to £130 rather than drifting back toward retail.
