Why we called it

This is the least glamorous call in the hub and one of the most reliable. Ascended Heroes Mega ex Boxes sit on Asda and B&M shelves at £20 to £24 and clear around £40 on eBay. There is no drop time, no queue and no draw. There is a delivery schedule and a purchase limit.

Asda cap it at three per store, and that cap is exactly what makes the play work. Three units is not worth a special trip, but four stores at three each is twelve units, and even filling half of that is £120 in for £240 back. They restock multiple times a week, so missing one morning is not fatal. Go at opening.

B&M run it differently: a six-item limit across all Pokémon rather than per product, so the decision there is what to spend the allowance on. Through August the EX Boxes and First Partner Series 2 were the best use of it. Staff will usually check the back if you ask, and through the month the north of the country saw the heaviest restocks.

The edge

What members knew before everyone else worked it out.

  • £20-24 in store against roughly £40 out, so £16-20 a box before fees.
  • Asda cap three per store. Four stores routed properly is £120 in for around £240 back.
  • B&M cap six items across all Pokémon, not six of each, so spend the allowance on the highest-margin SKU on the shelf.
  • Restocks land multiple times a week. Going at opening matters more than going often.
  • Ask staff to check the back. A lot of stock never reaches the shelf on delivery day.

How it played out

#pokemon-alerts · call log
  1. 4 Aug

    B&M restock flagged

Confirmation that B&M would put out EX Boxes and FP2 the following morning after a week of non-profitable stock.

  2. 11 Aug

    Northern restocks

Major EX restocks reported across the north. Members told to keep checking their Asdas rather than waiting for a ping.

  3. 17 Aug

    The full route published

Week-shaped plan posted: five Asdas between 7 and 8am, first B&M at 8, ring the Entertainer at 9, more B&Ms at 10.

  4. 19 Aug

    Midweek check-in

EX Boxes appearing but in smaller numbers than expected, with B&M lagging. Reported honestly rather than talked up.

The takeaway

The margin per box is small and that is the point. This lane pays on repetition and local knowledge, not on one big hit, and the members doing best at it are the ones who know which four stores to visit and what day the pallet gets worked.
