Vinted charges UK sellers nothing to list or sell, and the seller receives the full item price once an order completes. The buyer pays the postage and the Vinted fee, the renamed Buyer Protection fee, which Vinted’s price list puts at usually 3% to 8% of the price plus £0.30 to £0.80. Everything else, from bumps to verification, is optional.

What does Vinted charge in 2026?

These are the charges in Vinted’s price list, last updated on 8 October 2026, and its help centre, both checked on 13 October 2026.

Only the Vinted fee is compulsory on every Buy now order, and postage comes with every parcel. The buyer pays both, so the only Vinted charges a seller can face are the two optional promotions.

Does Vinted charge sellers a fee?

No. Vinted’s help centre says there are no fees for uploading or selling items, and that sellers receive full payment for the item in their Vinted Balance once the sale completes. It also says there are no subscriptions or recurring payments, and Vinted’s page for professional sellers says Vinted Pro is free too. A seller’s real costs are the stock, the packaging and any promotion they choose to buy.

Is the Vinted fee the same as the Buyer Protection fee?

Yes. Vinted has renamed the Buyer Protection fee as the Vinted fee, and its help page on the change says the fee is not new or additional, that it is calculated the same way, and that there are still no selling fees. The new name is being rolled out gradually, so some help articles and screens still say Buyer Protection.

The fee is mandatory on every order placed with the Buy now button, and the buyer pays it at checkout. Vinted says it helps cover the cost of running the platform, including member support and applying its refund policy when an item bought from a non-professional seller is lost, damaged or significantly not as described.

Warning · Paying outside Vinted removes the cover

Vinted’s refund policy only covers purchases made with the Buy now button. A seller who offers a discount for paying by bank transfer is asking you to give up that cover, and if the parcel never arrives, Vinted says it cannot support you.

How is the Vinted fee calculated?

Vinted does not publish a single formula. Its price list says the fee depends on the item’s characteristics, the order value and whether the order is a single item or a bundle, and that it typically combines a percentage of the price with a fixed amount: usually 3% to 8% plus £0.30 to £0.80, VAT included. The exact fee for any listing appears in its price breakdown, and again in the order summary at checkout.

The table works out both ends of that usual range at common prices. A real fee normally falls between the two columns, and because Vinted says “usually”, treat the range as a guide.

Item priceLow end: 3% + £0.30High end: 8% + £0.80Seller receives
£5£0.45£1.20£5.00
£10£0.60£1.60£10.00
£20£0.90£2.40£20.00
£50£1.80£4.80£50.00
£100£3.30£8.80£100.00

So a buyer paying £20 for a jumper should expect to add around £0.90 to £2.40 in Vinted fee, plus postage, while the seller receives the full £20. On a bundle, the percentage is worked out on the bundle’s price.

Who pays for postage on Vinted?

The buyer. Vinted says buyers cover shipping, which is shown at checkout and added to the total, and that the price depends on the parcel’s size and where the buyer and seller are. The seller receives a prepaid label or code, so a normal sale costs them nothing in postage. The exception is an oversized parcel, which a carrier may charge extra for or refuse. Postage is not on Vinted’s price list; carriers, sizes and lost parcels are covered in our Vinted shipping guide.

What optional fees can you add on Vinted?

Buyers can pay to have an item verified

Item Verification costs £10 per item and checks the authenticity of eligible designer clothing, bags, accessories, jewellery and shoes priced at £85 or more. The buyer pays for it, and the seller cannot remove the option from an eligible listing. Electronics Verification costs £5 per item, or is included at no extra cost on some eligible orders, and tests eligible phones, tablets and games consoles for function, condition and authenticity. Both prices include postage to Vinted’s verification hub, and Vinted says delivery can then take up to 10 business days after the seller ships.

Sellers can pay to promote their listings

A bump pushes one listing higher in newsfeeds and search results for 3 or 7 days, priced on the item’s price and the duration. Showcase, formerly Wardrobe Spotlight, promotes your whole wardrobe for 7 days, priced on how many listings you have and their value. Vinted shows the cost before you pay, and how to bump on Vinted covers when each is worth it.

Does Vinted charge to withdraw money?

No withdrawal fee appears in Vinted’s price list, and its help page on withdrawal problems says the exact amount withdrawn will match the amount you receive. Withdrawals go to a bank account in pounds, using a sort code and account number, take up to 5 business days and have a minimum of £0.10. Bank details shared between several Vinted accounts make withdrawals fail.

Money only becomes withdrawable once the order completes. The buyer has 2 days after Vinted says the parcel should have arrived to confirm everything is OK or report a problem, or 14 days when buying from a Vinted Pro seller. Once the order completes, the payment reaches your available balance within 2 days.

What does a reseller pay on both sides of a flip?

When you buy stock on Vinted, you are the buyer, so the Vinted fee and postage are part of your cost. When you sell it on, your buyer pays them and you receive the full sale price. That is why the beginner buy and sell guide sets each Max Buy as an all-in figure. If you source with a Vinted monitor, set each filter’s maximum price low enough to leave room for both.

The fee comes back when an order goes wrong. If a parcel is confirmed lost, damaged or not received, Vinted’s refund policy gives the buyer a full refund of the item price, the Vinted fee and the postage. After a partial refund, the Vinted fee is refunded in proportion to the item price.

Tip · Price your offer on the total

Before you send an offer on stock, check the fee in the listing’s price breakdown and the delivery prices at checkout, and add both to the price you are offering. If that total is above your Max Buy, lower the offer or walk away.

Packaging is yours to buy on every sale, and anyone selling regularly should budget for tax: the Vinted tax guide covers the trading allowance and which expenses count. If you also sell on eBay or Depop, Vinted vs eBay vs Depop compares what each platform charges.
