On Vinted in the UK the buyer pays for postage and chooses the carrier at checkout, and the seller gets a prepaid label or code and 5 business days to send the parcel. As of 13 October 2026, Vinted’s help centre lists seven integrated UK carriers: Evri, InPost, DPD, Royal Mail, Relay, AnyVan and DHL Express. Most take parcels at a shop, Post Office or locker, and DHL Express and AnyVan can collect from your address.

Which carriers can you use for Vinted shipping in the UK?

Every carrier starts the same way: you press Get shipping label in the conversation with the buyer and follow that carrier’s instructions. The prepaid Vinted label must be used, because a different label or shipping option cancels the order automatically.

Who pays for shipping on Vinted?

The buyer. Vinted says shipping is always paid by the buyer, shown at checkout, added to the order total and priced on the parcel’s size and both members’ locations. Because the buyer buys the label, a normal sale costs the seller nothing in postage, as the Vinted fees guide explains.

You choose which carriers to offer under Profile, Settings, Postage, sending From your address or From a drop-off point. A disabled carrier can still appear if it is a buyer’s only way to check out; if you cannot use it, Vinted lets you cancel without negative feedback. Vinted says offering more shipping options may attract more buyers.

Returns work differently: when a buyer sends an item back for a refund, the buyer pays the return postage unless you agree otherwise, and you can choose to cover it with a Vinted label.

How do parcel sizes work on Vinted?

Vinted suggests a parcel size when you list, based on details such as the category, item size and brand. Measure the packed parcel before you accept it, because once the buyer pays, the carrier, label type, address and size are fixed unless you cancel and repeat the order. A carrier may charge extra for, or refuse, a parcel over its limits. If Vinted picked the size and Royal Mail charged you extra, Vinted may compensate you; if you picked the wrong size, it usually cannot.

Standard items include clothing, shoes, bags and books; heavy items include games consoles and rugs. Evri’s own size guide says its lockers take parcels up to 62 x 39 x 57cm, so a big parcel inside the 245cm rule may need a ParcelShop. InPost’s lockers have small (8 x 38 x 64cm), medium (19 x 38 x 64cm) and large (41 x 38 x 64cm) compartments; if yours is wrong, InPost says to close the door without the parcel and tap My parcel doesn’t fit. For bundles, Vinted lets you change the size at the drop-off point at no extra cost.

How do you send a Vinted parcel?

  1. 01Press Get shipping label in the conversation with the buyer, choosing a printable label or QR code where the carrier offers both.
  2. 02Pack and photograph the parcel, using the habits further down.
  3. 03Take it to a drop-off point for the buyer’s chosen carrier, or arrange the collection if that carrier picks up from your address.
  4. 04Send it within 5 business days of the purchase, or ask the buyer to extend the deadline by 3 or 5 business days.
  5. 05Keep your proof of postage until the order completes.

Tracking can take up to 48 hours to appear. If you have sent the parcel and nothing shows, press I confirm I’ve sent the order so it is not cancelled. Without a tracking update or that confirmation within 5 business days, the order is cancelled the next business day, and late shipping earns automatic negative feedback; the reviews guide explains why prompt posting matters. If you will be away, holiday mode hides your listings for up to 90 days.

What happens if a Vinted parcel is lost or damaged?

The buyer starts every claim by pressing "I have an issue" in the order conversation. A claim suspends the order and holds the payment until it is resolved, and Vinted says investigations with the carrier can take several weeks.

For sellers, protection comes from the Vinted label. If the carrier confirms that a parcel sent with a Vinted label is lost or damaged, Vinted compensates you up to £500, though for damage only if it was properly packed; with any other label you claim from the carrier yourself. Taking compensation for a lost parcel hands its ownership to Vinted Go UAB, as does leaving a returned parcel uncollected past the deadline and any extra holding period.

A seller can only dispute a claim if they have not already agreed a refund or asked for a return. When you are the buyer, collect on time: InPost gives 3 days from delivery, DPD pick-up points 7 calendar days, and Vinted warns some parcels are held for only 2 to 3 days.

Which packing and proof-of-postage habits protect your money?

  • Use a padded bag or a box. Vinted calls unpadded bags and envelopes bad packaging for clothes and shoes, and poor packing can cost you the refund or compensation.
  • Fill the gaps, seal with strong tape, and stick the label flat on the largest side with the barcode visible. Remove old labels from reused packaging.
  • Photograph the item and the packed parcel, inside and outside, before sending. They are your evidence if a buyer reports damage.
  • Keep proof of postage until the order completes: the label, the drop-off receipt or the email confirmation.
  • InPost shops do not give receipts, so request a digital one from InPost’s receipts page with the parcel number.
  • Put one parcel in each InPost compartment, and check the InPost app for free compartments before you go.
  • Give each order its own label. Separate purchases by the same buyer cannot share one; only a bundle travels as one parcel.

Warning · Never use a Royal Mail postbox

Vinted’s Royal Mail page says a parcel dropped in a postbox with the QR code attached cannot be registered. It will not be delivered, you will have no tracking as proof of shipping, and no compensation is offered. Use a Post Office, parcel shop, locker or customer service point instead.

Most of these habits cost nothing, and they give you the evidence a claim needs. The make money reselling guide covers how postage and packaging fit into your margins.
