A Vinted bump is a paid boost for one listing: it shows the item higher in members’ newsfeeds and search results for 3 or 7 days, or until it sells. Vinted publishes no fixed price: the cost depends on the item’s price and the duration, and Vinted shows it before you pay. Showcase, formerly Wardrobe Spotlight, promotes your whole wardrobe for 7 days instead.
What does a bump do on Vinted?
Vinted’s help page on bumps says a bumped item appears higher in newsfeeds and search results, is shown to the members most likely to be interested, and reaches buyers in your registered country. The effect lasts only while the bump runs. You can see how many people viewed and interacted with bumped items from your profile, which is how you judge whether one worked.
A bump cannot lift an item past a buyer’s filters. Vinted’s page on recommendations says the filters members apply, such as sizes or a price range, are the most important factor, and search results are filtered before they are ranked. So if someone searches for jumpers under £20, a bumped £25 jumper is not in their results at all. Promoted items are also shown under limits on how often they appear, so a bump raises your odds of being seen without promising any number of views.
How much does a Vinted bump cost?
Vinted does not publish a bump price list. Its price list and help pages say the fee depends on the item’s price and whether you choose 3 or 7 days, and that the exact amount, VAT included, is shown when you pay. If you add a bump while creating a listing, the upload screen shows an estimate first.
Set the price before you pay. You can lower the price of a bumped item but you cannot raise it, and lowering it does not reduce what the bump cost or bring a refund of the difference.
How long does a bump last on Vinted?
A bump lasts 3 or 7 consecutive days, or until the item sells. Only one bump can run on an item at a time, there is no limit on how many you buy across your listings, and a bump cannot be moved to another item or member. If a buyer cancels before the parcel is sent and you re-upload the item, the bump carries on until its original end date. Holiday mode does not extend a bump or Showcase.
How do you bump an item on Vinted?
You can bump a live listing from your profile, or add a bump while you upload a new one. From your profile:
- 01Go to the Listings section of your profile.
- 02Press Bump under the listing, or select Boost your visibility above your listings and choose Bump your items.
- 03Choose the bump option you want. The + symbol adds more items to the same order.
- 04Press Review order, add or confirm a payment method, then press Pay now.
For a new listing, tick the Sell faster with a Bump box on the Sell an item screen, which shows the estimated cost, then press Upload, choose the option and pay. Some new listings go through an automated review that Vinted says typically takes about 30 minutes and can take up to 2 days; if yours does, the bump is not processed and you are not charged, so bump it once the listing is live.
Tip · Keep a note of what each bump did
When a bump ends, check the item’s views and interactions on your profile and note them next to what you paid. Start with 3-day bumps, and only pay for 7 days on the kinds of items where those numbers moved.
What is Showcase on Vinted?
Showcase is the new name for Wardrobe Spotlight. It promotes all your listings for 7 consecutive days from purchase: members may see it in their newsfeed and search results, it highlights up to 15 of your listings that each member is most likely to buy, and buyers can browse your wardrobe or follow you from it. You need at least 5 items listed to buy it, and Vinted advises keeping at least 5 listed while it runs. You buy it from your profile by selecting Stand out with Showcase; on the app it sits under View my Listings and Boost your visibility.
The price depends on how many listings you have and their value, with larger and higher value listings costing slightly more. How often it appears depends on how often members search for the items, sizes and brands you sell, so Vinted recommends listing for the current season. The lasting benefit is followers: Vinted says they are, on average, 3 times more likely to buy from you than other members, and they keep seeing your items in their newsfeed after the Showcase ends.
| Feature | Bump | Showcase |
|---|---|---|
| What it promotes | One listing | All your listings, with up to 15 highlighted to each member |
| How long it runs | 3 or 7 consecutive days, or until the item sells | 7 consecutive days from purchase |
| What sets the price | The item’s price and the duration | How many listings you have and their value |
| Who can buy it | Any seller, on any listing | Sellers with at least 5 items listed |
| Refund if a listing is removed | No | No |
Is a Vinted bump worth paying for?
A bump can be worth it on the right item, but Vinted publishes no figures on how much it lifts sales, so for a reseller it comes down to margin and timing. The best candidate is an item priced against sold listings, well photographed and in season, that has been live for a while without selling. New listings already get a push from Vinted, so waiting a few days before bumping shows you whether an item needs one.
Then do the sum. Compare the bump price with the profit left in the item once you count what you paid, including the Vinted fee and postage on your purchase. If the bump would take most of that profit, try a small price cut first: it costs nothing upfront, and Vinted notifies your followers when you lower a price. Showcase suits a wardrobe of 5 or more items in one area, such as knitwear in several sizes, because it matches several listings to each buyer and can win you followers.
When should you skip the bump?
- The price is above what the item sells for. A bump cannot get past a price filter, so fix the price first using the pricing guide.
- The photos or description need work. Vinted’s own advice is to update them, and the price, before you bump; the photo guide covers the fixes.
- The listing could be hidden or removed, for example over photos taken from another member or website, missing authenticity proof or the wrong category.
- You are about to switch on holiday mode, which does not extend a bump.
- The item is already drawing offers and favourites. A bump ends when the item sells and cannot be moved, so it adds little to a listing that is about to sell.
Warning · Removed listings get no refund
Vinted says it cannot refund bumps or Showcase on listings that are hidden or removed, or if the account is banned. Listing the same item more than once for free exposure carries the same risk: Vinted does not allow the same item to be listed twice, removes duplicates, and can ban accounts that keep breaking its catalogue rules.
The patterns Vinted acts on, relisting included, are set out in how to avoid a Vinted ban.
What can you try before paying for a bump?
Vinted’s selling tips page lists free steps that do some of the same work:
- Send an offer to members who favourite the item or ask about it.
- Lower the price in a small step. Followers are notified when you list a new item or lower a price.
- Set up a bundle discount for buyers who take more than one item. Only standard sellers can offer one.
- Upload regularly, which Vinted says helps you gain followers.
- Improve the photos and description, and verify your profile.
- Turn on every shipping option you can use, so buyers have more delivery choices.
Reviews matter as well, because Vinted tells buyers to look through a seller’s reviews before buying; the reviews guide covers the habits that build them. If an item that is priced right still sits after all of that, a 3-day bump is a fair test.
