Why we called it
A numbered anniversary console is normally the cleanest call in the book, and this one still made money, just less of it than the sell guide hoped. The 40th Anniversary Switch 2 went up at £429.99 with a £575-700 guide. First confirmed solds landed at £525 on 12 September, and by the 27th the real, confirmed range had walked to £485-516.70.
The honest sentence from the recap belongs here verbatim in spirit: it bricked way lower than the estimates, and it was still profit. Roughly £55-95 a console before fees is a thin margin on £430 of capital, and that trade-off is exactly what the follow-up said.
The quiet winners were the accessories. The Pro Controller at £79.99 confirmed at £110-130. The carry case at £34.99 did £50-68. The Ocarina of Time foil at £55 printed £110-115, the best multiple of the whole drop. Small capital, doubled.
The edge
What members knew before everyone else worked it out.
- Console £429.99 against confirmed solds of £485-525, well under the £575-700 guide.
- Pro Controller £79.99 to a confirmed £110-130.
- Carry case £34.99 to £50-68, the sleeper of the drop.
- Ocarina of Time foil £55 to £110-115, the best multiple on the page.
- The 27 September re-comp used confirmed sold prices only, and revised the console down in public.

The honest re-comp
Real confirmed solds: £485-516.70 on the console. Bricked under the guide, still profitable, said plainly.
The takeaway
The console made less than hoped and the £55 foil doubled, which is a better lesson than a clean win: on bundle drops the accessories are not an afterthought, they are frequently the trade.
