Why we called it
Games Workshop's Miniature of the Month is free with no purchase and no subscription attached — one per person, while stocks last, at any Warhammer or Games Workshop store. Typical allocation runs 30 to 50 per store.
The catch comes from GW's own terms and conditions, and it is the difference between eight pounds and twenty: in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand you are required to assemble the miniature in store. The £20.76 comparable sale was an unbuilt one. Built models sell nearer £9.
The edge
What members knew before everyone else worked it out.
- Free, one per person, no purchase required — every penny is margin.
- £8–20 depending entirely on whether you can take it unassembled.
- Ask politely to take the sprue unbuilt; some staff will allow it, most will not.
- Many Warhammer stores close Mondays and Tuesdays — check before travelling.
- Skip the Aeldari Exodites coin: it needs £60 of in-store spend and sells for around £22.50.

The takeaway
