Why we called it
Bushiroad — the company behind Cardfight!! Vanguard and Weiß Schwarz — launched the first Palworld set on 30 July, and the demand signal ahead of it was extraordinary: 3.5 million trial decks sold worldwide before launch day. For a debut trading card game, that is an enormous number, and it explains why sealed product was moving at three times retail within forty-eight hours.
Online allocations vanished almost immediately, so the actionable part of the call was not a website. It was a phone. Bushiroad ran a pre-launch demo tour through roughly 400 shops across 18 countries, which means independents took allocation and plenty are sitting on stock they have never listed anywhere.
The edge
What members knew before everyone else worked it out.
- ~£45 retail against £180–200 for English 1st Edition boxes — roughly four times retail.
- Cases of twelve at £1,281–1,300 work out around £107 a box — buy the case, sell boxes individually, keep the spread.
- Watch the variant: Japanese runs £64–66 and Chinese from £30, so title listings "English 1st Edition" or get lowballed against imports.
- First-print boxes carry a "Palword" misprint, corrected in wave two — a finite error run worth naming in the listing.
- Ring local card shops rather than refreshing websites; that is where the remaining stock actually is.
How it played out

Set launches
BP01 releases and online allocations sell through almost instantly.

Posted with the case maths, the variant warning and the misprint detail, plus a monitor going live that night.

The phone-call playbook
A step-by-step in-store guide follows — search local card shops, ring each one, ask three specific questions.
The takeaway
Between wave-two reprints and BP02 landing on 30 October, today's £150 will not hold indefinitely — which is why this was called as a sell-into-the-window flip rather than a hold.
