Why we called it
Topps only got the NBA licence back this cycle, and the return year has run hot. Chrome Basketball sold out in around two minutes and still sits near $950 against roughly $300 retail. Pristine is the premium tier of that same return, and this is the first one that has ever existed.
There is a second signal worth reading, and it is Topps' own. They put products they expect to oversell on EQL, and both of the other EQL items they ran this month carry premiums. That is the manufacturer telling you what they think demand looks like before anyone has seen a box.
Entry is free and cancellation is free, so the only thing at risk is the capital if you decide to take the allocation. We put resale at around £925 plus against an expected £700-750 retail.
