Why we called it
Secret Lair is print to demand, which normally kills a flip: if Wizards will make as many as people order, there is no scarcity to trade on. The edge on this one was not the product, it was the fulfilment schedule.
Every order placed in the twenty-four hour window gets made, but only a limited quantity ships now. The rest wait until June 2027 in the UK and EU, and your confirmation email tells you which batch you are in straight away. That means from September 2026 to June 2027 the only copies physically in the country are the fast-ship ones. Nine months of drought on a Hatsune Miku product, in a line where the English releases have held 2.8x to 4x.
It sold out very quickly and the fast-ship copies ran to £350 plus. A week later, with in-hand stock landing, it settled at around £195. That is standard post-delivery compression rather than a brick, and on a ~£150 landed cost it is still roughly £45 a copy.
The edge
What members knew before everyone else worked it out.
- Prior Secret Lair Commander Decks, all $149.99: Goblin Storm £313, Raining Cats and Dogs £451, Heads I Win £303.
- The queue is randomised, so being in at 16:55 gave the same odds as 16:30. We said so rather than telling people to camp.
- Fast-ship versus June 2027 backorder is the entire margin. Do not buy on backorder, you would pay today's price for next year's oversupply.
- UK and EU keep the fourteen day right to withdraw, confirmed on Wizards' own support pages, so a June 2027 confirmation is cancellable.
- Peaked at £350+, settled ~£195 once in-hand stock arrived. Sell before June 2027, when every remaining order lands at once.

The takeaway
Print to demand does not mean no flip, it means the flip has a clock on it. The nine month gap between the fast-ship batch and the rest was the product, and calling the timing right mattered far more than being first into the queue.
