Why we called it
Before Marine Nationale doubled in June and Monaco printed €130 a coin, there was this: the French mint's Petit Prince 2€ commemoratives — the standard proof at €26 and the reverse-proof limited to just 4,000 pieces at €32.
The call went out twelve days before the 29 January drop, with the monitor armed, keywords loaded, and the UK reshipping problem solved in advance. Estimated resale ran £50 to £150+ depending on the version — the reverse-proof's 4,000 mintage doing the heavy lifting at the top of that range.
The edge
What members knew before everyone else worked it out.
- Two versions priced separately — the 4,000-piece reverse-proof was the margin play.
- Twelve days of lead time with a dedicated monitor and live keywords.
- UK participation route (reshipping) documented before the drop, not after.
- The proof-of-concept for the coin lane that printed all spring.

The takeaway
This was the entry that taught the room coins were worth watching. Six months later the coin lane has four entries in this ledger and the highest hit-rate of any category.
