Why we called it
BrickLink Designer Program sets have a published production run and no plans for anything beyond it. BrickLink say so in their own FAQ. This restock was not new production at all: it was cancelled orders and spare replacement units, which is why their own wording was that inventory is very limited. Once it went, that was the last time these existed at retail.
Five sets were on the board. Sequoia Tree Trail at £239.99 was the one we told people to target: best margin, thinnest supply, and the numbers agreed on both venues. Nineteen BrickLink lots and six eBay UK listings live, against 349 wanted lists for twenty for sale on BrickLink. It was trading at £397.59 on eBay UK going in and settled at around £340 in the week after.
The buying process is two steps and it catches people out. You go to the BrickLink Designer Program shop page, pick your set, and it sends you to LEGO.com to pay. Want a second set? Start the whole process again from the beginning. That is why we told everyone to decide their target before 16:00 rather than weigh it up in the moment.
The edge
What members knew before everyone else worked it out.
- Sequoia Tree Trail 910058: £239.99 to £340, and it was showing £397.59 on eBay UK on the day.
- The Art Factory 910054 to ~£300, Gold Mine Expedition 910055 to ~£400, Outlaw Forest Den 910057 to ~£280, Off-road Adventure 910056 to ~£105.
- Stock was cancelled orders and spares only. BrickLink can still cancel a confirmed order, so nobody should pre-sell before the shipping email lands.
- Two-step checkout through BrickLink then LEGO.com, one set at a time, limit one of each. Decide your target beforehand.
- Europe pays more on some sets, £341 against £286 on one of them, with nobody selling there. Worth enabling international shipping.

The takeaway
Genuine scarcity is rare enough in LEGO that it is worth naming when it appears: a published run, no reprint, and a restock made of other people's cancellations. The wanted-list ratio was the tell, and it is public information that almost nobody checks.
