Why we called it
Red Line Club exclusives are members-only, £9.99 a year to join, and Mattel let you cancel any time before the car is packaged. That combination is what makes them workable: a cancellable pre-order on a capped product, with a nine month wait before it ships.
Going in, no UK seller had sold one. What existed was seventeen sales from European sellers on eBay UK clearing £153.83, and a presale running at nearly four times retail. Every RLC exclusive on record settles between 1.25x and 1.67x once shipped, so the honest read was that selling inside the first fortnight gets you around £140 and it likely settles nearer £105 after that.
The UK site went in under a minute. The US store opened a second window at 17:00 the same day at $50, which we posted with thirty minutes' notice. By that afternoon the market was doing £120 to £160 with roughly £145 across thirty-plus sales.

The takeaway
Publishing the settling range alongside the presale price is the difference between a useful call and a hype post. Nearly four times retail on a presale looks incredible until you know that every one of these lands between 1.25x and 1.67x, at which point you know exactly when to sell.
