Why we called it
The Owala collaboration was posted in the same breakdown as the Starbucks Bearista, and the contrast between them was the point. The Bearista was the loud one everybody was chasing; the Owala was called as the genuinely clean cook of the week, and it was the one we told members to plan around.
The reasoning was unglamorous and correct: a functional product rather than a novelty, a proven sell-out of 72 hours on its debut, a 1.6–2.4x spread on a £34.99 retail, and Rewards early access through the Starbucks app that gave members a head start over walk-ins. Hot Summer Pink was the money variant, with blue the sleeper at £45–70.

The takeaway
The Bearista got the attention and we were honest that it would fade. The Owala was the boring, functional, proven one — and being told which of two drops in the same week is the real cook is most of the value.
