Usually, yes. Vinted’s help page on banned accounts states that a permanently banned member can still log in to contact Vinted and to withdraw earnings from their Vinted Balance, and it lists three situations where a payout may be refused. For a temporary ban the page is silent, which in practice means the money waits with the account. This guide goes through what Vinted commits to in writing, the difference between available and pending balance, the ordinary reasons a withdrawal fails, and the steps to take if the payout is refused.

What Vinted says about your balance when you are banned

The official position is on the help page for banned accounts (vinted.co.uk/help/92). A permanently banned member can still log in for two purposes: to contact Vinted about the ban, and to withdraw earnings from their Vinted Balance. The page then sets out when a withdrawal may not be possible: where it poses a risk to other members, where the account has been compromised, or where there is a fraud risk. Those three exceptions are the whole of the published policy.

Two consequences follow. If your ban was for something unrelated to money, such as repeated commercial selling or ignoring Vinted’s messages, you should expect the balance to be withdrawable, and the first thing to do is try. If your ban cites fraud, scamming or a compromised account, expect the payout to be held while that is examined, and expect to need the escalation steps further down.

Temporary bans

For a temporary ban the help page says nothing about the balance at all. The ban itself lifts automatically after 7 to 30 days depending on the reason, so the conservative assumption is that the money sits in the account until then and becomes available when access returns. If you can still log in during the restriction, attempt a withdrawal; if the option is missing, note the end date shown on your account and plan around it rather than opening new tickets. The timing side is covered in how long a Vinted appeal takes.

Available balance is not the same as pending balance

A withdrawal can only move available balance. Money from a recent sale sits in pending balance first, and Vinted’s pending balance page explains the rule: the buyer has two days after being told the item should have arrived to confirm everything is fine or report a problem, the order then completes, and payment lands within two days after that. For Vinted Pro sellers the buyer window is 14 days. Until an order completes, the payment provider holds the money, and if a problem is raised Vinted may refund the buyer under its refund policy.

So a seller banned on a Tuesday with three parcels in the post has money that cannot be withdrawn yet for reasons that have nothing to do with the ban. Those orders still need to complete. Keep posting what has sold and keep the tracking numbers, because an item that never arrives is refunded to the buyer, which empties that part of the pending balance.

Why a withdrawal fails even without a ban

Before assuming the ban is the problem, rule out the ordinary failures. Vinted’s money withdrawal issues page lists them: the name on your Vinted Balance must match the name on the bank account, and some UK banks run Confirmation of Payee checks that reject a mismatch; an incorrectly formatted account number or sort code; a bank account already linked to another Vinted profile; an amount below the minimum; or a bank account the payment provider has blocked. In every case the money stays in your Vinted Balance when the withdrawal fails. If a payment shows as sent but has not arrived after five business days, Vinted asks you to contact it with bank statements, and money sent to a closed account is returned to your balance within 14 calendar days.

Identity checks are the other common blocker. Vinted’s payment provider runs Know Your Customer checks, and its ID page says access to your balance can be suspended until the check is completed, with withdrawals blocked in the meantime. A ban does not remove that requirement, so have your own ID ready. The same page warns that submitting suspicious or fake documents can result in withdrawals being permanently blocked.

How to request your money, step by step

  1. 01Log in if you can. Permanently banned members retain access for exactly this. Go to your balance and attempt the withdrawal to the bank account already linked to the profile.
  2. 02If the withdrawal option is missing or refused, contact Vinted through the help centre, which is reachable without logging in, and reply to the email that carried the ban decision as well. Use the email address the account is registered to.
  3. 03State plainly that you are requesting release of your Vinted Balance. Give the registered account name, the account email and the last four digits of the linked bank account so ownership can be verified. Keep the funds request separate from any argument about the ban itself.
  4. 04Ask which of the three published exceptions, if any, applies to your account. If none does, say so and ask for the payout to proceed.
  5. 05Keep a dated copy of every message. If you need to escalate, this is your case file.

If Vinted refuses the payout

Vinted Balance is held and paid out by a regulated payment provider, which is why the refusal reasons are framed around fraud and security. That also gives you a route. Ask for the payment provider’s formal complaints procedure and put your request through it in writing. In the UK, a complaint about withheld e-money that is not resolved can be taken to the Financial Ombudsman Service, and Citizens Advice can help you frame it. The banned-accounts help page itself names a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body and the courts as the remaining options for the moderation decision. None of this is quick, so start early and keep every reference number.

What not to do

  • Do not open a new account on the same device to relist the stock. Vinted links devices, and it can turn a temporary ban into a permanent one.
  • Do not delete the app or request account deletion while money is in the balance. You need the account to exist to be paid from it, and Vinted says an account banned for safety reasons cannot be deleted anyway.
  • Do not pay anyone offering to recover your funds or unban you for a fee. There is no paid route into Vinted support.
  • Do not pass an identity check with documents that are not yours. Vinted warns it can block withdrawals permanently.

The short version: if the ban is permanent, log in and withdraw; if it is temporary, wait for the date you were shown; if the payout is refused, ask which exception applies and take the funds question to the payment provider’s complaints process. For the ban itself, the appeal guide and template is the next read.
